Harvick and his number 4 Stewart-Haas Racing team had extra motivation to perform this week.

Kevin Harvick is at his best when he's mad, so much so that former crew chief Gil Martin used to try to rile him up during races. ABC15's Jason Snavely got the scoop after Harvick's victory on Sunday. Stewart said after Harvick won Sunday at ISM Raceway for his third consecutive Cup win.

"I have been mad as all get out because this team does a great job and this organization does a great job and we have great cars", he said.

"When you get into those playoff moments, you have all the guys, everybody looking at the race auto, that determination of every last detail - there's a lot going on in life in general, and it's hard to do that every week", Harvick said. There's nothing better to be a part of than something like that.

"Actions speak louder than any words I can come up with, " Harvick said. "When you showcase character and grit as a team, as a unit, that's more powerful than any of us being good at what we do".

"The run was ideal for me, made the pop, he defended the position, in doing so, he put me in the marbles pretty late in the corner, " Rossi said. He edged out Kyle Busch on the final lap to secure the victory.

"We lost the race on pit road today", Busch said. We didn't stomp 'em, but we won.

Harvick got in front of Busch on the last series of pit stops on the mile oval. Busch never challenged Harvick after that and finished 0.774 seconds back. "To sit down there in the corner and watch these guys race like that was like my short track days".

Speaker Ryan Applauds President Trump for Efforts to Hold Trade Abusers Accountable
The proposal has no co-sponsors and Republicans have not warmed to the idea of limiting executive powers on trade just yet. Sanford said. "I think you could probably point to a fair number of indications that suggest there would be".

"It was an awesome day for us", said Tony Stewart, co-owner of Stewart-Haas Racing.

NASCAR said Wednesday that inspectors at its research and development center in North Carolina found the Ford violated a rule requiring rear window support braces holding the glass rigid, and another requiring the right rocker panel extension to be aluminum. Harvick had swept both stages and won the Las Vegas race to earn seven playoff points. He was docked 20 regular points and the team lost 20 owners' points. Crew Chief Rodney Childers was fined $50,000, Car Chief Robert Smith was suspended, and the Playoff benefits for the Vegas win were stripped away. The penalty for the broken window bracket, in addition to a side skirt issue, was very costly for the team.

"To see him (Almirola) up there, I saw Clint up there, Kurt winning a stage, that's really the most important thing because that progression as a race team, when everybody ups the ante on the vehicle, you learn something from each auto and each person", said Harvick. Kyle held off Harvick in the first. And with the victory, the No. 4 was headed back to the R&D facility.

Harvick began the winning streak at Atlanta after crashing and finishing 31st in the season-opening Daytona 500. And he also is the first driver to win three of the first four races of a season in any order since Elliott did it that year.

Harvick broke a tie with Kyle Busch with 14 NASCAR national-series victories at the track. In 31 Cup starts in Phoenix, the California driver has 15 top-five finishes. The goal was to come into the Phoenix-area track and dominate like he had so many times previous.

Harvick also wrecked at Daytona before rattling off his three at Atlanta, Las Vegas and in the desert this past weekend. We have a little work to do, but man, we're right there.

"Everything inside the vehicle quit", Bowman said. "I was turning pretty good and just had a hard time putting the power down". Bowyer replaced the retired Stewart at the end of the 2016 season, and Almirola took over the No.10 from Danica Patrick this year.
