Dad's punishment for 'bully' son, 10, divides opinion

According to The Washington Post, Bryan Thornhill of Roanoke, Virginia, posted a video of himself driving in a auto behind Hayden, his fifth grader who was accused of bullying last week and subsequently kicked off the school bus.

On Monday, he posted another video - which has since been removed - showing himself running behind both his son and his 8-year-old daughter, who wanted to join in the run to race her brother.

"Ironically, since he's been running to school this week, his behaviour has been much better", he says, noting that his son's teachers have said the same.

But others questioned Thornhill's real motivations and wondered if the boy would get sick after running for so long in the rain.

Thornhill joked that the punishment would inevitably have at least one positive outcome. "He hasn't gotten in trouble this week, where last week, he was just absolutely out of his mind", Thornhill said in a video, according to RNN.

The video, initially posted to Thornhill's Facebook page Thursday, was picked up by media outlets and has since garnered almost 23 million views.

Another added: "I hope your child doesn't have problems with getting bullied after you posted this embarrassing video of him".

A parenting lesson has gone viral and has someone people asking if this is the right way to teach kids not to bully. "Great job Daddy! If we had more parents parenting, this world would be a much better place", another said.

Mr Thornhill pictured with his two children. "That's what children need these days", Thornhill says.

Thornhill is hitting back at his haters, saying "if you get your panties in a wad seeing a kid jog... you probably need a lap or two". "Because it's exercise, something that a lot of people don't think children should do anymore, so you just stick them behind a damn Xbox for the rest of their lives".

"Our children are our future. I can't stand you, and I don't even know you", another said.

A Virginia dad managed to earn the respect of his family and not to mention his Facebook friends after he shared a new parenting technique.
